Each week, I am going to be featuring an affiliate which could present you with a money-making opportunity on your blog. I know for me, I don’t always think about the various companies and products out there that would be a great fit for my readers. Well, hopefully you’ll find some affiliates that you can work with via this weekly post.
I’ll introduce you to the featured affiliate and suggest a couple of blog niches that might be good for promoting this affiliate. Please keep in mind that these posts are only suggestions and if you don’t think the product/company is right for you blog’s content, don’t promote it.
This week’s featured affiliate is One King’s Lane. If you’re not familiar with One King’s Lane, you need to check it out! If anything, aside from the affiliate program, you should browse their site. (Do that here.) OKL sells high quality decor items like baskets, mirrors, furniture, pillows and even jewelry! One look at the site and you’ll see how easy it will be to promote these guys!
Join the One King’s Lane affiliate program here.
With OKL, you will make 5% of sale for returning customers and a whopping 20% of sales for new customers who purchase! According to ShareASale, the average sale is $270+, which could mean a LOT of money for you, as the affiliate!
If you’ve got a lifestyle blog or a DIY site, promoting One King’s Lane will be natural and easy. The stuff on this site literally sells itself. As I have mentioned before, if the company you are promoting has a great site and amazing products, it makes generating sales much easier.

Affiliates are something I’ve just started thinking about. My blog is only 2 months old, so I’ve been focusing on my writing and building a community. When do you think is the best time to start with affiliates? I was approached by ProGrids/ShopLately. What do you think of them? I’m a little dubious since my blog is so new, I’m not sure why they’d be interested in me yet.

I think you’re right to build community first. People never like to see brand new blogs trying to monetize while putting their content second. As long as your content is first, and you are only monetizing when it is truly a good fit, I think anytime is a good time to explore it.
As for the companies being interested in you early on – it makes sense to me because these companies are most likely paying you based on sales you generate. So big or small, they want people helping them make sales. You’ll get a percentage just like the “big blogs”, it’ll just be a smaller total amount until your readership grows.
I hope that all makes sense!
