Important FTC Updates to Online Disclosures

Here's an addition/update to our Why You Must Disclose Earnings on Your Blog post. The FTC has released an update to their original Dot Com Disclosures. Some key points and what they mean: "Under the new guidance, this means advertisers should ensure that the disclosure is clear and conspicuous on all devices and platforms that consumers may use to view the ad." This means that you should be able to access your disclosure policy or see disclosure information from the mobile version of your site. 5 Things You Must Do After Your Publish a Blog Post

5 things you must do after you publish a blog post

1. Read it. Please. Proof read your posts. Before you publish and again after. The last thing you want is some typos in your post. You're more likely to catch an error when reading the post naturally, in its published form. Also take this time to make sure your pictures and everything else is lined up and formatted correctly. 2. Get Social! Post a Twitter update, Facebook status, Pin, etc. about your new post and include a link to that post. Note: just make sure ALL of your updates are not new post notifications or people will tune you out. 3. Add Pinterest buttons to an image (or two). Traffic potential from Pinterest is huge. Give your readers an easy opportunity to "Pin" a photo in your post. 4. Comment and respond. When reading other blogs, if you come across a post that is similar to one you did, leave a quality comment either mentioning that you wrote a similar post or linking back to it. 5. Monitor it. Keep an eye on your statistics for posts. It's … [Read more...]
